Little Badger Christian Preschool's mission is to minister to our community's children and families by presenting a developmentally appropriate Christian education and laying a foundation for a relationship with Jesus Christ in a loving, safe, and nurturing environment.
About us
The Little Badger Christian Preschool program of Oak Creek, WI, was developed at its current site at Faith Baptist Church in 2020. We opened in August of 2021. The preschool is organized for children ages 2-5 years of age. It is designed to promote children's mental, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development. The program aims to enrich each child's life so that he/she may experience the best and happiest of preschool years.

Details
Does not apply to parents enrolling their own child.
Child must be enrolled in our program for a minimum of 3 months to qualify.
Applies to either full– or part-time students.
Only one referral per child; one time only.
Parents must have all fees and tuition paid current for the entire three-month period before reward is issued.
No limit on number of rewards issued to the same person– however, you receive only one $100 reward per individual child.
$100 reward will be sent in the form of a check to the person referring the child after the child has completed his third month of preschool.
Our Curriculum
Abeka’s preschool curriculum features a traditional approach to teaching and learning, cross-subject integration, spiral review, and plenty of hands-on activities. It’s no wonder the Abeka program has helped thousands of preschools successfully prepare children for a lifetime of learning.
Curriculum by Age
2-year-olds:
Preschool learning for two-year-olds goes beyond playtime. With Abeka, children are introduced to foundational academic concepts with the help of Amber Lamb and Button Bear.
3-year-olds:
As their preschool learning grows through exposure to phonics, numbers, art, poetry, and the Bible, three-year-olds become students naturally and gain a strong foundation for kindergarten.
K4:
The Abeka preschool program for K4 serves as a bridge between a preschool experience and kindergarten.
K5:
The Abeka preschool program for K5 prepares five-year-olds for elementary school with a great foundation for success.
K4/K5 Classes
Language Arts:
Abeka has been successfully training young readers for more than 40 years, teaching basic reading skills using phonics. Our phonics approach isn’t just sight-reading that’s been garnished with phonics. It’s systematic. It’s thorough. And it works. With a solid foundation for developing exceptional reading skills, students begin reading actual words very early.
Once they can read words, their newly acquired skills are applied. They read character building stories that correlate with the phonics concepts they have already learned. Our phonics program is reinforced with dally seatwork activities that include words with special sounds (phonics rules) and sentence comprehension.
In fact, this phonics approach is carried through in all areas of classroom teaching. Our Kindergarten handwriting books, for example- Writing with Phonics K4 and Writing with Phonics K5- correlate with our basic phonics program to help students learn and review phonics as they practice correct writing formation.
Numbers:
Abeka teaches the basics in counting, number recognition, and number concepts. Four year-olds learn number concepts, before-and-after, and largest-and-smallest for numbers 1-20, as well as simple addition facts like 1 + 9. For five-year-olds, their mastery of numbers goes from 1 to 100. They count and write by twos, fives, and tens, and learn addition facts through the 10 Addition Family. They also learn money value, telling time, number words and number sequence.
Science & Health:
Four-year-olds begin to learn the basics of health and safety, while five-year-olds learn about themselves and the world around them with God’s World, our science book for K5. They’ll leave Kindergarten having already been introduced to God’s plan for seeds, animals, the seashore, health, weather, and seasons.
Social Studies:
Four- and five-year-olds learn about community helpers and simple safety rules, the beginnings of American history, and children around the world. These studies include simple geography and an activity book for K5 students.
Plus, we subscribe to a weekly news magazine for our students, God’s Big World, which is a Christian educational magazine for children that combines engaging stories, activities, and digital resources to explore God’s creation and current events.
Fine Arts:
Abeka gives students opportunities for acting out drama and nursery rhymes featured during the activity time. They are introduced to poetry. They participate in cutting, pasting, coloring, tracing, drawing, and working with various textures through art. Their writing readiness, eye hand coordination, visual perception, listening and thinking skills all grow. As for music, four year-olds enjoy singing from Fun Songs for Little Ones (K4), while Song Time for K5 adds traditional, patriotic, and learning songs to the collection of music they love to sing.
Bible:
Abeka’s Bible program presents the Word of God in story form through our colorful Flash-a Cards. K4 and K5 each have their own sets of cards and lessons, which flow from the heart of the teacher into the heart of the student. The program includes daily lessons, Bible drills, hymns and choruses, plus Scripture memory. This all imparts a biblical worldview from an early age. Little Ones Sing unto the Lord (K4) and Sing unto the Lord (K5) give Kindergarten students a full slate of hymns and choruses to be used during Bible times and other times.

Preschool is now enrolling
Preschool- ages 2-3; Kindergarten-K4 and K5. Monday through Friday, 6 am to 6:30 pm. Year ‘round. Parents, we do offer both full-time and part-time enrollment. However, we do highly recommend that K4 and K5 students attend full-time. Four or less hours is considered part-time; over four hours full-time. Our class schedules vary depending on age. However, most classes take place in the morning, ending with a noon lunch. After lunch, our schedule includes nap time, story time, snack and recess. Plus, afternoon activity and free play times. The new year may add an additional class right after lunch, before nap time. New 2026/2027 schedules will be available closer to September.

Mrs. Jan Gnacinski -
Administrator/Center Director
Miss Jan is a Christian mother of four and a grandmother of seven. She served as Executive Director of Wisconsin CHEA, a non-profit corporation, for 26 years. She has worked hard to further her education in Early Childhood Education, and has been awarded the Administration Credential.
Bekki Gnacinski -
Lead Teacher
Miss Bekki has been a Christian since she was 10 years old and has worked with children for many years in church nurseries, Awana programs and preschool classes for Wisconsin CHEA. She has seven nieces and nephews and has played a large part in each of their lives for over 20 years. Bekki has been awarded the Preschool Credential. She has been with Little Badger since the day we opened, in August of 2021.
Crystal Mata -
Lead Teacher
Miss Crystal describes herself as “a Christian, and a wife to my wonderful and amazing husband, Isaac. Mom to Ray, Isabella, Mia, and Frida. I love being around kids and having fun with them. Helping and serving others makes me happy. I love to spend time with my family and going to the beach is one of my favorite places to go.” Miss Crystal has been with Little Badger since March of 2024; first, in a volunteer capacity, then, hired as a lead teacher.
Casey Gnacinski -
Lead Teacher
Miss Casey grew up in a Christian family and has been saved since she was a child. She is a wife and dog mom. She loves animals and children. She has been working in childcare since 2006 and could not imagine working in any other type of job. She loves that she gets to work with children in her own church and show them the love of Jesus. Casey has been with Little Badger since January of 2024. She has worked with all ages, but the area she has been most involved in is our before/after school and summer groups of children aged 6-14.
